SoliBlanket ULS-Grade

SoliBlanket™ ULS® was the first Low Bio Persistence (LBP) fiber product introduced to our portfolio and remains a benchmark for high-temperature insulation performance. As the first commercially available Generation III blanket with Ultra Low Shot fiber technology, it established a new standard for thermal efficiency, durability, and handling. With a classification temperature of 1260°C, SoliBlanket™ ULS® is designed for continuous use up to 1100°C in clean, oxygen-rich atmospheres.

Low Bio Persistence fibers, and SoliBlanket™ ULS® in particular, achieve optimum performance in applications below 1050°C and in low-pollution, low-alkali environments. Typical applications include the aluminum industry, domestic appliances, and power generation systems such as Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs). Vulcor is qualified and approved SoliBlanket™ ULS® to the given specifications as internal insulation by major turbine manufacturers.

Developed around Generation III Ultra Low Shot technology, SoliBlanket™ ULS® offers clear advantages over Generation I and Generation II LBP blankets. Its key differentiator is the near absence of coarse shot particles, resulting in a higher fiber index and a more homogeneous fiber matrix. The optimized structure enables tighter needling, improved resiliency, higher tensile strength, and lower thermal conductivity. It also generates less dust, causes less skin irritation, and improves installation efficiency.

SoliBlanket™ ULS® has been independently tested by the Fraunhofer Institute and complies with the requirements of Note Q of European Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. As a result, SoliBlanket™ ULS® products are exempt from classification and labeling requirements within Europe, providing users with an insulation solution that combines proven thermal performance with regulatory compliance.
