SoliBlanket ZR-Grade

SoliBlanket™ ZR-grade is the natural extension of the product range when SoliBlanket™ X-grade reaches its technical limits. With a classification temperature of 1430°C, it is designed for continuous operation at temperatures up to 1300°C. Manufactured using advanced spinning technology, it builds on the legacy of Generation III fiberisation, offering enhanced thermal performance (up to 30% lower thermal conductivity), superior mechanical strength, and consistent product quality. We innovate, and the benefit is yours; superior insulation performance means greater energy savings.

Its optimized fiber structure provides excellent resiliency, resulting in improved lining performance and more robust fiber modules. The proven chemical composition of SoliBlanket™ ZR-grade has been successfully used in the market for over 30 years, with a strong track record in the iron and steel, petrochemical, and ceramics industries. It delivers consistent, high-performance insulation in applications where elevated temperature capability and long-term reliability are essential.

Product introduction

To differentiate our classic RCF-Zr blanket from the competition offering we ensure the high classification temperature by the chemical composition. This means we have a tight control on the zirconia contents of our blankets, and we benefit from the use of our ULS spinning technology.

As a result Soliblanket ZR-grade is stronger, feels more comfortable to handle and provides better thermal insulation. During installation the benefit of our advanced spinning process offers a higher resiliency after compression. This is particularly important when making fiber modules or in case the blanket (strip) is installed perpendicular to the main fiber orientation, or in easier words; stack(bonded).

SoliBlanket ZR-grade is part of the SoliBlanket product range. With a variety of four Refractory Ceramic Fiber (RCF) grades and the famous ‘ULS®’ Low Bio Persistence Fiber grade we are offering one of the most extensive ranges of high temperature fiber blankets in the market today. With our different chemical compositions we are able to provide a solution to nearly every atmosphere or temperature.

Availability and packaging

Standard packaging

From our early start, we introduced a tight shrinkwrap packaging solution for SoliBlanket, being among the first to bring this concept to the market. Today, this approach is widely adopted, confirming its clear advantages.

Shrinkwrap packaging for blankets improves on-site efficiency and usability. Its compact form enables easier handling and smoother transport through confined spaces such as furnace manholes. It also reduces fiber dust exposure, offers better short-term weather resistance, and eliminates bulky packaging waste; resulting in faster and cleaner installation.

The concept also delivers significant logistics benefits. By optimizing pallet configuration, 24 rolls can be loaded instead of 20, allowing up to 25% more product per truck or container. This reduces transport costs and lowers the overall carbon footprint per delivered product.

Although plastic packaging has environmental considerations, we have minimized the impact by using film with recycled content. The result is a balanced solution combining operational efficiency with improved sustainability.

SoliBlanket is supplied in this optimized packaging wherever possible. On special request we still supply the carton boxes, and so do we supply our 6 mm rolls.

SoliBlanket is always supplied on ‘one-way’ pallets to optimize the required time for (un-)loading. A 40′ HC container loads a total of 520 rolls (21 pallets of 24 rolls + 1 pallet of 16 rolls) palletized and wrapped for easy and quick unloading.
