SoliBoard BB-grade

SoliBoard™ BB, also known as Boiler Board, has been specifically developed for domestic and condensing boiler applications exposed to severe thermal cycling. In these systems, burners repeatedly start and stop in response to heating or hot water demand, creating rapid temperature fluctuations that place considerable stress on insulation and support components. SoliBoard™ BB is engineered to withstand these conditions while maintaining its structural integrity and thermal performance throughout its service life.

Manufactured from SoliWool™ ULS® fibers and specially selected fillers, SoliBoard™ BB benefits from our Generation III Ultra Low Shot technology. The advanced fiberization process produces longer and stronger fibers with significantly reduced shot content. This enables excellent machinability, dimensional stability, and thermal shock resistance at a density of only 220 kg/m³. Comparable boiler boards typically require densities 25–35% higher to achieve similar mechanical performance and durability.

The exceptionally low density reduces heat accumulation within the insulation. As a result, more of the burner's energy is transferred to the heat exchanger and ultimately to the water. This contributes to improved boiler efficiency, faster system response, and reduced energy consumption. SoliWool™ ULS® has been independently tested by the Fraunhofer Institute and complies with the requirements of Note Q of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. Consequently, SoliBoard™ BB is exempt from classification and labeling requirements within Europe. Produced using advanced continuous manufacturing technology, it delivers consistent quality and reliable long-term performance in modern high-efficiency boiler systems.
